Three Winemakers, One Night

Saturday, September 16, 2026. 6:30 PM. Siena is closing its doors to the public for one night and opening them to something Austin doesn't see often: three Italian winemaker-owners, in the same room, at the same table, pouring their own wine and talking about it themselves.

This is a full restaurant event. Chef David is putting together the courses now, and each one will come with a wine poured across every table in the room. As it's poured, the winemaker behind that bottle will talk to the whole restaurant about what's in the glass. No sommelier standing in for the people who made the wine — course by course, glass by glass, they do the talking themselves.

Who's coming

  • Giovanni Folonari — eighth generation of a legendary Tuscan wine family, pouring under his own label, Spalletti. Chianti Classico country, the real thing.

  • Medici Ermete — the family behind some of the most respected Lambrusco in Emilia-Romagna, five generations deep, still run by the family that started it in 1890.

  • Mariano Buglioni — Valpolicella, Veneto. A winemaker who also runs his own osterias back home, so he knows exactly how his wine is supposed to show up on a plate.

Three regions, three families, one night.

An hour before dinner, the bar opens early so guests can wander in, order a drink, and meet the winemakers before anyone sits down. No assigned seats yet, no formal program — just good conversation before a long, unhurried dinner.

What we know so far
